Salem - Laura Tierney, 94, of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on August 15th after a visit with close family and friends.Laura was born on October 5th to Vincent and Laura (Roberge) Doucet in Lawrence, MA. Laura graduated from Lawrence High School, and soon after began working at Lawrence General Hospital (LGH) where she stayed for 31 years.Laura enjoyed volunteering at LGH after retirement, cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. She was a proud 'Nani', spending most of her later years with her grandchildren and her adored great grandchildren.Laura was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Tierney, her sister Pearl Hamel and brothers Vincent and Kenny Doucet. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Brenda Lee Mikolis and Susan O'Brian Cook; her sister, Charmaine Doucet; her grandchildren Michelle, Nina, Erika and Raymond; her five great grandchildren; extended family members and dear friends.Services are private for the family. Methuen - Richard F. Olefirowicz, 88, of Methuen, went peacefully to his eternal reward on August 10, 2024 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill, following a long period of decline.The son of Polish immigrants Felix and Mary (Krasowska) Olefirowicz was born in Lawrence in a home birth on March 29, 1936, the youngest of eight siblings and three half-siblings. He was a proud life-long resident of Methuen and in the first graduating class from Tenney High School in 1954. Shortly after joining the Army Reserves, he later served in active duty during peace time before being honorably discharged for his service to our great nation.He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings Blanche, Chester, Edward, Helen, Henry, Josephine, Paul, Sophie, and Stanley. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of over 56 years, Bronislawa "Blanche" (Swiderska) Olefirowicz of Methuen, their only son Joseph R. Olefirowicz of Nashua, NH, his brother John Olefirowicz and his wife Marlene of Spring Hill, FL, along with several nieces and nephews spread throughout the United States and Europe. He was a lifetime communicant of the former Holy Trinity Parish of Lawrence, serving as an usher, within the Holy Name Society, and later a parishioner of Saint Monica Church in Methuen.Military clerical work experience led him to climb the banking industry ladder, ultimately serving the Methuen Jackson Street branch of the Lawrence Savings Bank as Branch Manager and as a certified specialist in SBLI Insurance products. He later pursued a long career in the Internal Revenue Service as a tax examiner, for which he received the Albert Gallatin Award from the United States Department of the Treasury, retiring from Federal service in April 2001.Richard was a dedicated and loving husband and father, sparing nothing of his time, quiet talent and resources for his family. His life was fully dedicated to his wife and their avid love of flower and vegetable gardening, living an exemplary bond of the "for better or worse" marriage commitment. Once a pianist, an avid fisherman, marksman and hunter, he enjoyed constant outings in his younger years, later teaching his son how to fish at the Harold Parker State Forest and on the banks of the Merrimack River. Lawrence - Victor M. DeLeon, Sr., age 80, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by those he loved. He was the husband of Dora E. DeLeon.Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Victor was the son of the late Santiago and Leonza DeLeon. He immigrated to the United States in 1972. One year later, Victor enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served honorably for 15 years.Strong in his faith and committed to his church community, Victor was an active parishioner at St. Mary's Church in Lawrence. He was very involved in his church community. In 2014, Victor was the recipient of the Bishop Cheverus Award Medal from the archdiocese of Boston for his service to his church.Outgoing and social by nature, Victor was known by so many in Lawrence, always the first person to offer assistance to those in need. Many in the community credit their current success to the early guidance Victor provided.He loved his family, and was a dedicated grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchild and cherished many memories they created together.In addition to his wife Dora, Victor is survived by his children, Victor DeLeon, Jr. and his girlfriend Maria of Lowell, MA, Brenda Rosado and her husband Albert of Plaistow, NH, Edwin D. Salem - All who knew and loved Pauline Estelle (Chalifoux) Gaudette hold this truth to be self-evident, that on August 21, 2024, our Lord God and Savior called Pauline from her loving husband and children at Lawrence General Hospital to immediately seat her at His table in heaven.Pauline was born to the late Arthur and Diana (Desjardins) Chalifoux in Lowell on December 15, 1934, the youngest of six children. She graduated from the St. Louis Academy in Lowell. Just after their 19th birthday, Pauline married Robert P. Gaudette, Sr. at what is now Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut. It was a marriage that was to last 70 years.Pauline and Robert had eight children together, and Pauline was the glue that bound the family together. She cherished time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and, most especially, her beloved husband, Robert. She also loved animals, both wild and tame, and was an avid bird watcher.Pauline spoke English and Québécois, and immensely enjoyed visiting Québec and Montréal, her ancestral home. She had a wonderful sense of humor: to her, a "good doobie", especially accompanied with a peace sign, described anyone whom she was highly affectionate of.The Bible calls us to "give as decided in your heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." Pauline, a devout French Canadian Roman Catholic, took this to heart; cheerful giving was her life's work.Pauline gave her time, energy, and boundless love to her eight children, always (and constantly) caring for them. She gave her full support to every aspect of her husband's entrepreneurship throughout their married life. Most recently, she was an integral part of Future Supply Corp. of Londonderry, NH, a family business that continues to thrive some 35 years after it was founded. Behind the scenes, she gave her all to ensure the success of her husband's professional choirs. Later in life, she gave generously—and always quietly—to the Church, to charities, to families, and to friends alike. She quite literally gave everything she could.Pauline only knew how to give. And she never expected anything in return. A careful observer might conclude that, in fact, Pauline only knew how to love.In addition to her husband, she is survived by her eight children, Ronald R. North Andover - Madeleine E. Holdsworth, 76, formerly of North Andover and recently a Fremont, NH resident, passed away on Friday August 23, 2024.Born on March 12, 1948, in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Madeleine was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Matthews) Dedam. She was a proud member of the Mi'kmaq tribe, whose heritage she held close throughout her life.Madeleine was an avid bowler who dedicated over forty years to the sport. Her passion for bowling was matched by her enthusiasm for crafting, where she expressed her creativity through handmade projects.She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, George Holdsworth, of Fremont, NH; her daughters, Lisa Cottone and her husband, Mark, and Susan Fountas and her husband James; her granddaughters, Kaitlyn Cann and her husband William, and Kristina Robinson and her husband Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Ava and Evan; her sisters Constance Dedam and Donna Levesque; her brother, Patrick Dedam; and her brother-in-law James Holdsworth. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Madeleine had an infectious sense of humor and a unique gift for making people smile and feel welcome. Methuen - Beverly (Bouchard) Gagnon, 86, of Methuen, passed away on August 17, 2024 at her home.Beverly was born in Lawrence, MA on October 13, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Louis and Emma R. (White) Bouchard.Beverly was raised in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1955. After high school, she married the love of her life, Gerard T. "Gerry" Gagnon, whom she began to travel with throughout his military career. Together they settled in Methuen and began to raise a family. She took her role of being a mother with pride while also having worked briefly for Raytheon and was a representative for Avon Cosmetics for many years. She loved traveling and loved spending time in Maine at Old Orchard Beach. She could be found wandering malls and shopping centers with her best friend Jane. Most of all she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Beverly was the beloved wife of the late Gerard T. "Gerry" Gagnon. She was the loving mother of Kimberly Quinn and her husband Edward Quinn, Jr. of Methuen, Kerri Bull and her significant other Andreas Neuenfeldt of Methuen and the late Keith Gagnon. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew Naylor, Kelsey Quinn, Ally Bull, Tim Bull and his wife Ali, Chris Bull and Jared Gagnon. She was the great-grandmother of Matthew Naylor, Jr., and Tre' Tordo. She was the sister of the late Henry "Chuck" Bouchard and the late Louis Bouchard. Methuen - Mary A. (LaRosa) Anzaldi, 100, of Methuen, MA, passed away August 18, 2024, at the Holy Family Hospital.Born in Methuen, MA, she was the daughter of the late Filadelphia and Sebastiana (Mangano) LaRosa.Mary was raised in Methuen, MA and was a graduate of Searles High School class of 1941. She worked as a hairdresser along with raising her family. She was a founding member of St. Lucy's Church and was a 70-year member of St. Lucy's Sodality. Mary was also well known for her baking skills always having something on her table or in the refrigerator.She was predeceased by her husband, Gaetano Anzaldi and her siblings, Connie Gangi, Nellie Gangi, Blanche Constantino, and Biaggio LaRosa.Mary is survived by her son, Thomas Anzaldi and his wife Sheila of Lynnfield, MA and Lisa Russell and her husband Kevin of Derry, NH; her grandchildren, Jennifer Barch and her husband Patrick of New Jersey and Jonathan Anzaldi and his husband George of California and her great-grandchildren, Henry, and Sydney Barch. Ormond Beach - Our beloved mother Mary Alice Irene Pallaria, passed away peacefully from natural causes in Ormond Beach, Florida on April 7, 2021 at the age of 93.Irene was born on February 22, 1928 to Albertine Demers and Robert Giguere in Newark, New Jersey. Her mother, a French Canadian immigrant, became a US citizen, remarried moving to the Haverhill area where Irene grew up with her half-brother, Robert Vecky's.Irene had a zest for life, was ambitious, creative and attractive! She was often told she looked like Ava Gardner! She graduated from Haverhill High School, then went on to graduate from secretarial school and worked locally as a bookkeeper. Soon thereafter, she met her husband, Joseph Pallaria Sr, married and had three children together.As a homemaker, Irene liked to bake and enjoyed craft-projects and sewing garments as a seamstress. As the children grew, Irene went back to school and became a cosmetologist where she excelled at "High-Style" hair designs of the 1960's. She diversified her life by volunteering with community politics, working with local officials, and engaged with PTA groups for years. She also excelled in other leadership roles as a board member of the Catholic Woman's Club and as a Girl Scout leader. In her later years, Irene moved to Saint Augustine, then on to Daytona Beach, Florida where she retired and went by Mary or Mary-Alice.Irene was a loving, involved mother of three children and is survived by son Joseph Pallaria, Jr of Spokane, WA, daughter Maria E. Pallaria Schults of Newburyport, MA and was preceded in death by son Michael S. Pallaria [1999] and her half-brother Robert [Bob] Vecky's. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Miranda E. Schults, FL; Sarah A. Pallaria, OR; Joseph R. Zelienople - The family of the forever joyful, hopeful, kind, and loving W. Douglas Halsted, III is sad to announce his passing at 89 on July 6, 2024. He completed his remarkable life peacefully, in the company of loving family members. Douglas is survived by his four children (Shorey, Sarah, Nathan, and Bill) and seven grandchildren, and his sister, Janice Halsted Sussebach and her family.Doug was born in Southampton, New York on July 3rd, 1935, to the delight of his parents Walter Douglas Halsted Jr and Alice Heilig Halsted. Doug was raised first in New York and, as of 1941, in their historic home, the 1816 Jacob Ide parsonage and farmhouse in West Medway, Massachusetts with his two sisters, Janice (born in 1939) and Susan (1946-2001). He shared a deep life-long bond with both of them. By their example, their parents taught the importance of service to the community and the power of supporting the next generation to meet their potential.Doug attended the public schools in Medway, then was admitted to the Phillips Exeter Academy where he was first exposed to the study of foreign languages. His love of choral music got its start in the Exeter glee club. The Exeter community in general left such an impression on Doug that he was a very active alumnus.In the Summer of 1953 Doug's love of the French language and culture reached a significant peak when he attended the Collège Cévenol in the historical town of Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, France. He returned to go to Harvard, majoring in romance languages. He received an M.A. at Tufts and went on to study and teach at the University of Kansas. He spent one year at the Ecole Supérieur de Commerce in Clermont-Ferrand, France. During his academic life and travels Doug formed personal friendships, many of which he maintained by correspondence and mutual visits all through his life. He truly lived his love of language. This made him the great teacher he became.Doug formed life-long friendships throughout his journey, be that serving as a camp counselor at North Woods, working alongside his father at the Boy's Club in New York City, attending Philips Exeter, Tufts, Harvard, and University of Kansas, studying French in France, or traveling through Europe.Doug embraced life with love and joy and integrity. Doug was fascinated by how human sevolved to communicate meaning, leading two of his great loves – language and Music. He was delighted by how culture and language interplayed to create changes in meaning and evolve over time. If you were ever wondering about the etymology of a word, Doug definitely knew the answer and it was impossible to play Balderdash with Doug since he already knew the definition of all the words.Doug was able to merge his passion for language and supporting our youth through becoming a French teacher, eventually moving to the Andover School System in the 1980's until his retirement. His fundamental love of music was expressed through him serving as a Tenor in a multitude of choirs throughout his life, including South Church, Lexington Pops, Philips Exeter Choir, and Philips Andover Choir. He also was able to express his commitment to children and the Arts by serving as the Producer of the Andover High School Drama theatrical productions alongside his best friend Bob Lague. If you were wondering where Doug was some evening, he was either at choir or play practice.Bob Lague and his wife Nancy introduced Doug to the great love of his life, Josie Walker, and in 1990 they married and he became part of her family and step-father to her three children, Sarah, Nathan and Shorey. Family and fatherhood were always of paramount importance to Doug, and in 1992 Doug and Josie expanded the love of their family through the adoption of their son Bill. This decision was Doug's proudest commitment and a source of great happiness to him, particularly the three wonderful grandchildren his son and his wife Christen brought to Doug's life, Gabriel, Jacobe Douglas, and Aubrey.Doug loved to learn and enjoyed traveling, especially with his wife Josie. Many cross country road trips, plus journeys to Australia, Europe and The Panama Canal, gave Doug and Josie tremendous happiness and fulfillment. Their favorite place to go, however, was their cottage in New York's Catskill Mountains, where they hosted friends and family together every summer for over 30 years.Doug taught us all how to have a meaningful life and to approach everything with integrity, peace, love, humor, and joy.We welcome you to join us in our Celebration of Life, at South Church in Andover, MA, Saturday September 7 th at 4 p.m., with "Cast Party" to follow.

Plaistow - Rita (Ciampaglia) Sampson, 93, a resident of Plaistow, NH for almost 70 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of William R. Sampson, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2010. She was born, raised, and educated in Boston, MA. She was the daughter of the late Carmen Luigi and Maria Ciampaglia. She was a graduate of the Girls High School in Boston and Bryant & Stratton Business School in Boston. She was a dance instructor at the Perkins Institute for the Blind and Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Boston and Arthur Murray Dance school, where she met her husband, Ralph. Rita was co-owner of the Busy Bee Donut Shop in Plaistow, NH from 1965-1977. She was later employed as a tax auditor for the I.R.S. until her retirement where she then embarked her best job of all which she tremendously enjoyed, that was being a grandmother, "Nanny". She enjoyed baking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, trips to Europe, camping, gardening, and RV'ing. Rita was a member of the Good SAM's R.V. Club "Blazers" chapter. She was one of the original members of the Timberlane Music Association (TMA) Band Parents Association and a member of the Mother of Twins Club. Rita was a longtime parishioner of Holy Angels of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish in Plaistow, NH. She was very proud that her husband belonged to the Masonic Temple in Salem, NH of which she joined their sister group, Club 85 which was known as "The Special Ladies". She was a very active member of the Plaistow community helping with the Vic Geary Center, weeding the flower beds of the Town Hall, and helping with many organizations including Plaistow's Elderly Affairs. Her love for family and community were definitely her personal joys. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children; her son Steven A. Sampson (and his wife Linda) of Danville, NH, Thomas M. Sampson of Plaistow, NH, Suzanne M. Sampson (and her husband Michael Orsillo) of Pelham, NH and Dianne S. Healey (and her husband Michael) of Atkinson, NH, her treasured grandchildren, Timothy J. Healey of Danvers, MA, Madison M. Healey of Stow, MA, 2nd Lt. Patrick J. Healey of Tokyo, Japan, and Ryan J. Healey of Atkinson, NH. Plaistow - Lisa Siney-Aro, 59, a resident of Plaistow, NH, died peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Exeter Hospital with her lifelong partner Kevin Aro by her side. She was the daughter of Philip Siney Sr. and the late Marilyn (Sheltra) Siney.Lisa courageously fought endometrial cancer for almost eight years. She was a special lady who was full of kindness and always put others' needs before her own. She was raised and educated in Haverhill, MA and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1982. Lisa earned an Associate of Science degree from Northern Essex Community College in 1993. She was previously employed at HP Apollo in Seabrook, NH and later at Raytheon as a quality engineer for nineteen years. Andover - Mrs. Bernadette M.Harris, a longtime resident of Andover, beloved wife of Red Harris and mother of Matt and Todd Harris passed away on July 18, 2024. She was 76 years old.Born in Medford, MA on May 27, 1948, she was the oldest child of Leonard and Bernadette Fougere. She graduated from Girls Catholic High School in 1966 and was regarded as the cutest cheerleader on the squad. Little did she know, that young man throwing all those touchdown passes would eventually be her husband for 53 years.Bernadette was beautiful, loving, brilliant, and the absolute kindest person anyone has ever known. She was a fantastic wife and spectacular mother. She had all the best qualities a person could hope to have. She was extremely sports-minded, and she really loved her Boston teams. It was wonderful knowing her Celtics raised one last banner for her. Bernadette loved listening to country music and her favorite artist was Toby Keith. You bet she's asking him to play a song for her up in heaven right about now.Bernadette was also known for her terrific sense of humor. She could make you smile and laugh with her countless array of witty sayings. She was a pure joy to be around. She was a proud founding member of the "Lunch Bunch." This group of ladies formed a close friendship bond in the summer of 1988 while cheering on son Todd's baseball team. This team advanced all the way to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. Bernadette's Lunch Bunch meant so much to her for almost 40 years.Besides her beloved husband and two sons, she is survived by her adoring daughter-in-law Kristen and grandchildren Marlowe, Sullivan, and Eva. Windham - Scientist and beloved father and husband Joseph Stephen Scire died August 16, 2024 in Windham, NH.Scire was born March 4, 1955 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to parents Zerita and Joseph Scire and was raised, along with older brother James, in nearby North Andover. As a young man, he excelled in baseball, football, and wrestling and eventually became part of the first generation in his family to attend college when he matriculated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He left his treasured MIT with a standout collegiate wrestling record, undergraduate and graduate degrees in earth and planetary science, and, thanks to a long line at a fateful fraternity party, a fiancée who became his beloved wife of 45 years, Deborah.Scire was deeply inspired by the space mission and John F. Kennedy — who had once used part of his family's triple-decker as campaign office space — but learned early on that his truly terrible eyesight would almost certainly prevent him from becoming an astronaut. He turned his attention toward meteorology, and would often say studying the sky and weather was as close as he could get to space and the stars.As a meteorologist specializing in air pollution, Scire loved the challenges and connections with other scientists that his work put before him. One of his key contributions was the atmospheric dispersion model CALPUFF, widely used by researchers, environmental consultants, and regulatory agencies (including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) globally. He took great pride in teaching and mentorship, as well as the "open source" model that enabled significant peer review and contributions from collaborators around the world. Scire also tackled projects like inventing a bike lock (which he successfully patented) and providing meteorological consulting for mountaineers and the "Stars & Stripes" sailing team competing in the America's Cup.Though his professional accomplishments brought him acclaim and travel around the world, he was the first to say he was the happiest at home in New England with his family. He loved to hike, ski, scuba dive, and train for marathons and other races. As someone unable to make more than Eggos for himself, he was unflaggingly enthusiastic about his wife's cooking. Occasionally, this had him insisting, over a charred dish, that he preferred his food "crispy." He never missed an opportunity to tell his family how much he loved them — or how proud he was of them.Scire took great joy in many things: Debby's clams and linguini on Friday nights, jackets with many useful pockets, his son's flying football tackles, the Red Sox, fresh snow, his daughter's published writing, and the unusual cloud formations he was forever pulling over to photograph. In his recognizably Boston accent, he retold family stories and quoted lines from favorites like The Princess Bride, A Knight's Tale, and Star Wars. He cared deeply about the poor and vulnerable; about protecting the environment; and about civic engagement that could help more people live out the American Dream as he had. He was, above all else, extraordinarily gentle and kind.In 2014, not far from the finish line of the Chicago Marathon, Scire suffered a cardiac arrest that resulted in a significant brain injury. After difficult months in a minimally responsive state, he miraculously spoke his first words since the accident on December 25 when he wished the room a "Merry Christmas." The greeting was soon followed by a characteristic request as he spelled out "C-O-F-F-E-E." He spent the following decade defying long odds and courageously facing the many challenges and indignities of incomplete recovery. Cummings, Jr., 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9 at the Penacook Place Nursing Home in Haverhill.James was born on May 31, 1928 the son of James Cummings Sr. and Catherine (McGrath) Cummings. James joined and served in the United States Navy from1946 until 1948 before going to college. He then worked as an electrician and was stationed at the Boston Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 1976. James was an avid sportsman; he enjoyed playing tennis, golfing at the Garrison Golf Course in Haverhill and the Sagamore Golf Course in North Hampton, and was a charter member of the Makusue Ski Club in North Conway. He loved music, played the bongos, and enjoyed listening to Irish music and 30s and 40s Big Band music. James is survived by his cousin Eileen R. Salem - Raymond A. Giles, 97, of Salem, NH passed away Saturday, August 17th surrounded by his loved ones at High Point House in Haverhill, MA.Raymond lived life to the fullest. He loved living and took every opportunity to make it the best. He loved his family and time spent with them was his greatest joy.Raymond spent his early years in Woburn, MA and Boothbay, ME. He joined the Navy right out of high school during World War II, serving aboard the USS Portsmouth, and was awarded the American Campaign and the WWII Victory medals. He had great stories of watching the V-J Day celebrations from the beach in Guantanamo Bay.Raymond went on to enjoy many years as a proprietor of Woburn Square Service, and always had a friendly smile for friends and customers who became friends. A trip to the "station" was an opportunity to visit, chat and sometimes hang out. He loved Maine and nothing was better than an afternoon watching the boats or see the puffins and the seals.Raymond was always up for adventure and he was always ready to go. He loved to travel with his beloved wife, Kathy, and they enjoyed many cruises to the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska. They loved going to Disney World both with friends, family and grandchildren. Ray loved rides and especially roller coasters. Ray and Kathy also enjoyed many wonderful trips to the mountains, taking train rides, watching the grandchildren ski and viewing the scenic vistas.Raymond was happy to sit on the back porch and loved the plants and flowers in his yard. He was always happy when friends and family stopped by to visit and would often share his lunch or a dessert.Raymond was a wonderful husband, father, friend and mentor. Lawrence - We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Helena Cassidy Miller on August 20, 2024.She was born Helena Louise Cassidy on June 8, 1940 to Amelia (Peccerillo) and James Cassidy of Lawrence, Massachusetts. Helena attended Saint Augustine Grammar School and was a member of the Saint Mary's High School graduating class of 1958. She attended Burdette Junior College, graduating in 1963. In 1961, Helena met her husband of over 60 years. Andy and Helena were married on October 12, 1963. Together they spent their lives in Lawrence welcoming three boys Andrew, Michael and Brendan. In addition to raising her three sons, Helena cherished her summers at Salisbury Beach and was an exceptional chef, hosting dinners for her family every Sunday and Holidays. She accompanied her sister, an employee of Pan Am, to destinations all over the world including Russia, South America, Paris and Rome. She prided herself on her uncanny ability to find the best bargains while frequently visiting stores like the Christmas Tree Shops, Building 19 and the Kittery Outlets. Helena retired from the City of Lawrence Department of Training and Workforce Development where she helped countless people as a job developer. Salem - Claire (Dandreta) Coco, 80, of Salem, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 with her beloved family at her side.Claire was born on August 31, 1943 in Lawrence, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine (Peluso) Dandreta. She attended Holy Rosary grammar school and St. Mary High School in Lawrence Massachusetts.During her younger years Claire was a stay-at-home mother to her two children, Mark and Christine. She always said that being a mother was her favorite job. Claire also worked various retail positions but most notably she worked as a supervisor at JC Penney for over 20 years, where she formed many lasting friendships, until her retirement in 2013. In retirement her greatest joy was spending time with her six grandchildren. All the grandchildren always wanted to go and play at Nana's house.Claire enjoyed traveling to various places within the country and abroad with her family. She was an avid gardener spending many hours in her yard. She always enjoyed watching and cheering for the Boston sports teams. She also enjoyed the many holiday gatherings with her loved ones. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Parish. She will be extremely missed by all who knew her.Claire was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Horace Coco to whom she was married for 41 wonderful years. HAVERHILL - Arthur John Bower, aged 89 years, passed away peacefully at his daughter and son-in-law's home in Seabrook this past Friday with loved ones who care for him close at hand. He was a devoted brother, friend, husband, father, uncle, health care provider, grandfather, companion, great-grandfather, and in later years, a new friend to many, all of whom he loved, and who loved him in return.Born in Lawrence on May 23, 1935, he was the son of Alfred and Laura (Gattenby) Bower. He was Married to Mary Alice Williams of Bradford for 48 years, and then after her death, a steadfast companion to Grace Torisi Hamilton of Methuen for the past eighteen plus years. He is predeceased by two of his sons, Stephen Bower of Methuen, and Mark Bower of Haverhill, and grandson Trevor Corde. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law George and Laurine Bower of Newton, Massachusetts; his children Arthur and Linda Bower of Methuen; daughter-in-law Jennifer Hamilton Bower of Methuen; Margaret and George Corde of Seabrook, New Hampshire; Elizabeth Bower of Methuen; Thomas and Martha Bower of Newburyport; daughter-in-law Karen Bower of Haverhill; and Brian Bower and Jessica Thrower of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Arthur attended Lawrence High School; graduated from Merrimack College, and earned a DDS degree from New York University in 1961. He was a good athlete, clever card player, and very hard worker. Arthur was also a loyal and dedicated husband, father, dentist, and active member of his community. He practiced dentistry for over 50 years in the Bradford section of Haverhill where his office was a fixture on South Main Street across from Bradford College. He raised his family in Haverhill and was an active member of his community serving on various boards, the Haverhill City Council, and even as president of said council.He enjoyed an active membership at Haverhill Country Club for several decades, but his true summer-time passion lay entertaining family and friends at his cottage on Seabrook Beach. Fourth of July bonfires and Saturday afternoon cookouts brought back memories of August vacations at the south end of Salisbury to where he and his fellow Lawrencians faithfully migrated every summer.All who knew him considered him a "best" friend because he treated them as such. North Andover - Carmen Robert Corsaro, 74, passed away peacefully at Lahey Hospital in Burlington on Thursday, surrounded by his wife and children, after a long battle with cancer. Carmen was born on September 25th, 1949, and was the firstborn to the late Frank and Mary Corsaro. Carmen was also a beloved husband to Patricia Corsaro for 45 years.Born in Lawrence, Carmen attended Holy Rosary, St. John's Prep in Danvers, and Boston College. He met his wife Patricia while living in Boston and they married in 1978. Carmen received his law degree from New England School of Law, practiced as an attorney in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and was a professor at Massachusetts School of Law in Andover. He moved his family to North Andover in 1984 where he lived until his death. A guitarist since his teens, Carmen played in The Primitives and The Rhythm Kings and attended Woodstock in 1969. He rooted for the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. Later in life, he and his wife's greatest joy came from spending time with family, especially their grandchildren, Nathan and Loretta. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, charm, as well as his caring and generous nature. Carmen was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Joseph Corsaro. Newton - Shirley Jones Hart, age 89, of Newton, NH, formerly of Amesbury, MA, passed peacefully at her home on Wednesday evening, August 14, 2024, surrounded by the love and support of her devoted family. She was the loving wife of William Livingston Hart, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2020.Born in Amesbury on November 24, 1934, Shirley was the daughter of the late Harriett Goodrich Jones Smith and Stanley Jones. She graduated from Amesbury High School and went on to work at the Amesbury Hat Factory, where she met Bill.Their move to Newton, NH, marked the beginning of a new chapter dedicated to raising their family. Once their children were in school, Shirley used her skills as a bookkeeper at ArtVac Corporation, a company specializing in custom zinc die-cast products. Retirement in 1988 opened up a world of adventure as she and Bill spent the next 15 years traveling by camper, exploring and enjoying the freedom of the open road. This period of their lives allowed them to embrace new experiences and deepen their bond through shared adventures and discovery.Shirley's dedication to her family was just one facet of her vibrant life. Her myriad hobbies and passions—baking, gardening, reading, crosswords, bird watching, crafting, and camping—reflect a life lived with curiosity, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the world around her. Her love for nature and the outdoors illustrates a commitment to both her community and her personal joys. Demaso, 87, long time resident of Andover and most recently North Andover, passed away peacefully on Friday August 16, 2024, at the High Pointe Hospice facility in Haverhill. Jack was born on October 16, 1936, in Somerville MA to the late James and Mary (Forgione) Demaso.Jack was a lifelong lover of gardening, which he did from his early childhood all throughout his life. His garden was known by all who knew him, which he loved sharing by his family and friends. Jack was enlisted in the United States Army from 1957-1960 and was always proud of his time served. After the military career, Jack went on to work as an electrical engineer. East Hampstead - Col. Fred H. Baker, Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024 at his home in East Hampstead. He was the husband of the late Karen (Kocon) Baker, and Sharon Baker. Born in Haverhill on March 15, 1944, he was the son of the late Major Fred H. Baker, Sr., and Philenia R. (Brown) Baker. Col. Baker graduated from Pentucket Regional High School, Class of 1963, and Norwich University, Class of 1967. Following one year service in Vietnam and his active obligation, he joined the Mass. Army National Guard retiring following 27 years of military service. While in the Guard continuing his service, he taught at Andover Middle School and taught Industrial Arts at Andover High School before retiring in 2002. The Col. valued time spent with his family traveling to the White Mountains and Mid-West. He also enjoyed woodworking and renovating/remodeling homes during the summer. The Col. is survived by his children; Eric Baker and his wife Debra of Plaistow, Christine Caron and her husband Sean of Brentwood, NH, Gabrielle Baker of East Hampstead; five grandchildren, Kevin Baker and his wife Lindsey, Max Baker, Trey Baker, Danica Caron and Luke Caron; two great granddaughters, Remi and Teddi; sister, Beverly Abbott and her husband Peter of Naples, FL and several nieces and nephews. Coming full circle, and after returning home to Haverhill, Beverly finished her career and retired from the Holy Family Hospital (formerly the Bon Secour Hospital), in Methuen, MA.Beverly had many interests over the years including arts and crafts, sewing, knitting, reading, and watching her favorite nostalgic TV shows on MeTV. She often reflected on her once-in-a-lifetime trip to Italy she took with her best friend from childhood, Suzanne (Faxon) Swartz. But perhaps her favorite way to spend leisure time was in the company of her beloved Labradoodle, Daisy. Beverly was most happy when spending time with her family during holidays and family gatherings. Andover - Anthony Joseph Iacobo passed away at his home in Andover, MA on Saturday, August 10 following a brief illness. He was 96 years old and often noted he was grateful to be living a long and healthy life.He was born on June 13, 1928, in Lawrence, MA to Thomas and Carmela Iacobo, who had recently immigrated to the U.S. Their only surviving child, Anthony spoke Italian when he began elementary school and was required to repeat first grade. He was an altar boy at the Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence and his childhood was rich with the friendship of his many cousins who lived in Lawrence and Methuen. After graduating from Lawrence High School, he attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated with degrees from Boston University and Boston University School of Law. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard for eight years.His greatest joy was meeting his future wife, Josephine, on the train commuting to college from Lawrence. They were married in the Holy Rosary Church in 1954 and spent the next dozen years in Washington D.C. where he worked for the Interstate Commerce Commission and earned his Master of Law at Georgetown Law Center. Their five daughters were born during this time, and he delighted in calling them his "Southern belles." He was appointed an Administrative Law Judge for the Department of Health, Education and Welfare (and later, Department of Labor) in Boston in the late 1960s and moved his family to Andover where he and Josephine built their dream home. He served as the District Chief Judge for both departments and adjudicated cases across New England, Puerto Rico, and as far south as Florida.Anthony's joys were simple: family, friends, the beach, a blueberry or apple pie, wine, and listening to his opera records. He never shied from telling Josephine how much he cherished her. He favored creased pants and khakis, button-downs and loafers; attire he donned even for a walk into town or visiting the Andover's Savings Bank. A Yankee fan as a child, he introduced his daughters to Fenway Park with annual outings and grew to cheer on the Red Sox (though perhaps not as ardently as his daughters). He encouraged his daughters to excel in school reminding them how his parents had impressed on him the value of an education. Anthony was a voracious reader favoring history, biographies, and everything by Shakespeare. He adored each of his grandchildren, attending their recitals, sporting events, and commencements from pre-school to college. Anthony had a dry wit, and his sense of humor did not wane as he aged. At a recent visit to his physician, he was asked if he "felt safe at home." Not missing a beat he replied, "Well, my wife is Sicilian so...no."After retiring, he and Josephine enjoyed traveling and visiting their daughters who were living in California, Colorado, London, and Orleans, France. One of their first trips abroad was to visit his father's family in Roccamonfina and his mother's family in Santa Maria a Valogno. For the better part of 30 years they spent the winter months in Juno Beach, FL.Anthony is deeply missed by his wife of nearly 70 years; daughters: Maria; Laura (Daniel More); Catherine; Antoinette; Christina (Daniel Schwartz); and grandchildren Julia, Madeline More Lane (Kevin Lane), and Oliver More; and Joanna and Allison Schwartz. Hampton, NH - The patriarch of an extensive, tight-knit and loving family, Philip A. Fili, 86, died Aug. 10, 2024, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover. Born in Lawrence, Mass., to Joseph and Gaetana (Arcidiacono) Fili, he graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1954 at the age of 16. Phil entered the Navy on Oct. 16, 1956 and served on the USS Monssen DD-798 destroyer, with active duty in Europe and the Mediterranean. Honorably discharged in 1962, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Phil and Therese "Terry" (Bourassa) met in Boston as teens. They were married June 15, 1957 and raised their five children in Lawrence. Phil and Terry moved permanently to Hampton Beach in 1983. She died in 1990. Phil enjoyed family camping trips and Salisbury Beach vacations, visiting the White Mountains and competing in bowling leagues. A New England Patriots season-ticket holder, he attended the 1986 Super Bowl in New Orleans. He was a hard worker whose jobs included taxi driver, bartender, and color chemist at General Tire - Bolta Division. He was also employed at Foss Manufacturing and Stahl. In his 70s and 80s, he worked at Seacoast United and delivering auto parts in Hampton.Phil - a proud Italian - loved rare steak, a Perfect Crown Royal Manhattan, trips to Las Vegas and Foxwoods Casino, and playing 45s and poker with "the guys."He was fortunate enough to find a second love and married Carole Kenny in October 1991. They traveled to the Azores and also to Sicily to experience the Feast of the Three Saints in his ancestral homeland. They savored concerts at Tanglewood, and shared a deep and active devotion to God. They also had a passion for dining out, taking long walks along Hampton Beach and just being together. Family was Phil's top priority. He never missed a birthday party, a holiday get-together or any chance to connect. He was loving and compassionate.His humanitarian involvements included serving as president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Hampton, where he also helped run the soup kitchen and was an active member at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. In addition to his loving wife Carole, his family includes children Therese Anne and husband Andrew Vallario of Methuen, David and wife Judy Fili of Brentwood, N.H., Karen and husband Charles Kattar of Lawrence, Joseph and wife Gayle Fili of Methuen, Bill and wife Melissa Fili of Methuen, Sven and wife Sheryl Kenny of Derry, N.H., and Erik and wife Kim Kenny of Lawrence; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and too many friends to count. North Andover - Mary Corey of North Andover, MA passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers on Sunday, August 11, 2024.Mary was born on October 24, 1930, in Lancaster, NH and was the daughter of Telesfore J. ("Scope") Vachon and Louise Loudon Vachon. Mary's Mom sadly passed away when Mary was 5. She was raised by her Dad and her Grandmother. Mary had one brother, Robert. He was in the U.S. Army when he unfortunately died in a car accident coming home for a long weekend.Mary became the wife of Raymond R. Corey of Littleton on September 12, 1953. He was the love of her life. He preceded her in death in October 2022, and not a day went by that she did not long to see his face or hear his laugh. In 1954 they became the proud parents of daughter Karen, also of North Andover.Mary was a kind, quiet lady with a sweet smile. Ray and Karen were her life, and she was totally devoted to them. No man could ask for a better wife, and no daughter could have asked for a better Mom.Losing a parent never an easy thing—but we her family take solace in knowing that she is now in Heaven with Jesus, and Ray, never to be separated again. Lawrence - Louisette "Lou" Morin passed on August 15th, 2024 after a fast moving and difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born to Lellis and Annette Cote on September 22nd, 1951. She was the oldest of 7 and resided her whole life in Lawrence, Massachusetts.Louisette was married on April 25, 1976, to Raymond Morin, her husband of 48 years. Together they had 3 children. Louisette loved her family fiercely. Nothing brought more joy to her life than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She would never hesitate to help one of her family members but would never want to inconvenience anyone by asking for help herself. She was selfless, always putting the needs of her family first. She encouraged all and was the biggest cheerleader for both her children and grandchildren.Louisette loved sitting outside, flowers, frogs, classic country music, the beach when it was cold, a nice glass of wine, playing cards, good food, holidays (especially Christmas) and cooking for her family during get-togethers. She was a jeopardy whiz and always knew the wheel of fortune puzzle before anyone else.Louisette was a devout Catholic and attended church faithfully. Hiawassee - Timothy J. Bresnahan III, died unexpectedly on August 10, 2024, with his loving family by his side in Gainesville, GA. Born in Lynn, MA on February 29, 1956, he was the son of the late Gloria T. Bresnahan (Healey) and the late Timothy J. Bresnahan Jr. He was raised and educated in Danvers, MA and was a graduate of St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, MA. Tim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He served for almost five years, during 1977-1981, stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Guam. During his time in the service, he was a Sergeant in the Military Police. After the service, he went back to college and obtained a degree in Computer Science from Salem State and then pursued a successful career as a software developer.Tim was born with a golf club in his hands. Anyone who knows Tim, knows what a sharp and talented golfer he was. He was a caddy in his youth and his parents owned a driving range where he worked and hit balls almost daily. He golfed all during his military career with his Air Force pals, and he participated in several different golf leagues over the years. He always enjoyed a friendly side bet or competition with his friends. He also played hockey into his early 40s and was an avid Bruins fan. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, boating, taking his two dogs for mountain hikes, taking risks, adventure, fantasy football, going to the casino on occasion, and driving fast cars/jet skis/ATVs. Tim loved meeting new people and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family, when they could all get together.He is survived by his children, Susan M. Bresnahan of Hampstead, NH; Cara M. Newton - Greta Pauline (Esty) Craven, age 93, of Newton, NH, died early Wednesday morning, August 1, 2024, after a brief stay at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine.She was the loving wife to her husband, John V. Craven, to whom she had been married for 48 years, prior to his passing on June 13, 2007.Born in Groveland, MA, July 13, 1931, daughter of the late Ralph and Vera Esty of Esty Lumber & Sons, she graduated from Groveland High School in 1948.Prior to her marriage to John in 1959, she lived at 425 Main Street in Groveland with her family and worked at a local bakery making pies and later at Kennedy's Farm cleaning and candling eggs for a mere 10 cents per hour.She used the discarded eggs to make cakes for co-workers birthdays and that is when she caught the eye of John's brother Larry, who introduced them in 1958. They knew they were a match on their very first date.A traditional homemaker, she supported her husband while he founded Bocra Engineering in Seabrook, NH. She and John were active in their adventures and traveled most of the country rock hunting in their airstream.During the week they spent their time in Newton, while enjoying lake life on Lake Winnipesaukee on their weekends.She loved cooking and gardening. She crafted and decorated the house for every single holiday. She was famous for her beautiful birthday cakes and homemade ice cream. If you were coming for morning coffee you would be greeted with freshly baked muffins and if you were coming for afternoon tea you would find freshly baked cookies. She took great pride in her 1872 farmhouse that she lived in over 60 years.Greta was predeceased by her four brothers, Ralph Jr, Hobart, Fredrick, Roy and her sister, Barbara Maughan. She is survived by her remaining brother, Howard Esty of Groveland and her sister-in-law, Rosalie Esty of Groveland. Methuen - It is with great sadness in our hearts and souls that we announce the passing of John Michael Sheehan. John passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, after a short illness, just 20 days shy of his 69th birthday. He was surrounded by his loving wife and all of his children.John was born in Lawrence on August 31, 1955 to the late James and Clara (Arsenault) Sheehan. He attended St. Ann's Grammar School, (He always said he sat in the front of the class, and we would tease him, that it was NOT because he was vertically challenged!) Greater Lawrence Technical School, and received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Fitchburg State College. He was also retired from the Army, enlisting in 1974 and upon finishing his tour, remained with the Army Reserves for 30 years during which time he was called back to active duty in Iraq in 2003. John retired in 2005 with the rank of Sergeant Major. He was always so proud of his military years. Thank you for your service, sir.After working in the auto body trade for a bit, John became an auto body teacher, cluster chair, then retired as technical director from Greater Lowell Technical School. Some of his best stories came from his time there.John was a friend to all he met. The many stories he loved to tell were only surpassed by his kindness and overwhelming quiet generosity. Words cannot express the man who John was, or the insurmountable sense of grief and loss we feel at the sudden passing of "our guy."Linda and John lived an epic love story, and would travel around the country in his "Ford tough" truck, with Manhattan, NY and Key West, FL being absolute favorites of John's. Salisbury - Kevin M. "Luke" Smith, 50, of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, August 11 at his home.Kevin was born in Lawrence the son of Robert D. Smith and Joyce A. (Furnari) Smith. Growing up in Windham, NH, he was a graduate of Trinity High School, Class of 1993 and went on to study at Keene State. Kevin worked for many years as a contractor and superintendent in the building industry. He was a talented builder and was known for being able to fix anything. Kevin was an outdoorsman; he loved skiing, fishing, going to the beach and also loved to cook.More than anything, Kevin was a devoted family man. His sons, Daniel S. Smith and Joseph H. Smith, were the center of his world. Kevin was their biggest fan, never missing a sporting event or an opportunity to celebrate their interests and passions. He took great pride in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent with them. (Cerasuolo) Ciardello, 89, of Haverhill, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at High Pointe House surrounded by her loving family.She was born in Haverhill on February 2, 1935, daughter of the late Alfred and Dora (Legault) Cerasuolo.Betty was educated in the Haverhill School System. She went on to work for over 20 years as a Chef at Essex Agricultural and Technical High School.She had many amazing talents: creating wedding cakes for family and friends, knitting and crocheting hundreds of doilies, baby blankets and outfits, sewing her children's clothing as well as matching outfits for their dolls, cooking and baking the most delicious dishes, and caring for her parents in their later years. She was known by her husband as the "total package" because she did it all with such ease.Mrs. Ciardello was predeceased by her loving husband Ernest D. Ciardello who passed away in April of 2016. They met at Benedetti's (Bobo's) sub shop and their love story began. They hosted family and friends for over 30 years at Forest Glenn Inn in North Conway, NH. Lowell - Joyce "Joycie" Beryl Hulme, 80, of Lowell, MA died early Tuesday, August 7, 2024 with her loving daughters by her side, after suffering from dementia at D'Youville Senior Care/Memory Care in Lowell.Born in Lawrence, MA, on February 28, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert H. Hulme and Harriet B. (Boardman) Hulme.She attended Lawrence High School where she was a member of the Italian and biology clubs. She graduated with the class of 1961 and went on to earn a license from Fazio Beauty Institute. In 1963 she married her high school sweetheart and started a family. She was employed in early childhood education for many years. Later in her life, Joyce earned an associate's degree from Castle Jr. College in Windham, NH.Joyce was at peace in nature, and found comfort from the warmth of the sun on her face, the sound of the raindrops and the wind, and the beauty of a snow storm. She was appreciative of even the simplest things. She "got a kick" out of the squirrels frolicking under the oak trees, watching the ducks and geese by the Merrimack River, and the seagulls at the beach. She loved all animals and looked forward to visits from her grand-dog Blitzer and Oliver the therapy dog. Salem - Marie 'Irene' Weber, age 87, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 9, 2024. Born in Lawrence, MA, she was a cherished daughter of the late Alphonse and Eva (Roy) Rheaume. A proud alumna of St Anne's High School in Lawrence, Irene furthered her education with a Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Science from Merrimack College in 1958. She worked five years as an Executive Secretary for Avco Corp and the Department of Defense before retiring in 1963 to devote herself to her family alongside her late husband, George. Irene's passion for music was evident through her service as a church organist and soloist at St. Mary's, St. Theresa's, and St. Andrew's Churches in Billerica, MA, from 1966 to 1987. Her faith later led her to become a member of the Augustinian Seculars and an Affiliate of the Order of St. Augustine. Her generous spirit shone in her volunteer work, including serving as a pre-adopt Foster Parent for Catholic Charities in Washington, DC, caring for 12 newborns between 1990 and 1995, assisting at the Augustinian College Seminary from 1995 through 1999, and contributing to St. Peter's Church St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in Concord, NH from 2005 through 2014. Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, George, in September 2019. She is survived by her loving sons, David and his wife Sherie of Derry, NH; Mark and his partner Lynn Mendonca of Dracut, MA; and John and his wife Melissa (Lisa) of Woodstock, GA. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren (Matthew, Michael, Brendan, Stephanie, Sarah, Andrew, Lauren,Cailyn, Corey, and Roiya) and is also remembered by her sister Yvonne DeCosta and her husband Douglas of E. Bridgewater, MA, niece Anne DeCosta, nephew Paul DeCosta, and numerous cousins. In her younger years, Irene was an avid reader, enjoyed speeding through the New York Times crossword puzzle and puttering around the garden. She had a fondness for dark chocolate and was an expert in the 'sewing arts', including cross-stitch, crochet, knitting, sewing, needlepoint, embroidery, quilting, as well as playing her baby grand piano. Most recently, Irene was a parishioner at the Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Salem - Nancy Rochira, 80, a lifelong resident of Salem, NH passed away August 11th at Salemhaven after a period of declining health. She grew up in Salem, the daughter of the late Ann and Walter Kibildis. Haverhill - Walter W. Wightman, 79, passed peacefully on August 12, 2024 following a fierce battle with cancer. Walter was the husband of Nazira (Yezzell) Wightman to whom he was married for 56 years.. Born and educated in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Walter H. and Edna M. (Gleason) Wightman. Hardworking and strong, Walter took his gift of creation and self-taught engineering, and put it into fixing anything and everything. He managed a small roofing and siding business from which he retired more than a decade ago only to become a man of even more trades at his home where he lived with his wife of 56+ years.Besides his wife, Walter, the only son in a family of four sisters, is survived by his daughter; Heather; son-in-law David Kraus; granddaughter Sofiah; their puppy love JJ; sister, Jeannine Ravigala, and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. Derry - Frank Anthony Jacobs, 71, of Derry, NH, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH, after a courageous battle with health issues. He was the husband of Grace Anne (Regan) Jacobs, with whom he shared thirty-eight wonderful years in marriage. Frank first met the love of his life Grace in 1984 and two years later they were married. They settled in Windham NH where they started a family and years later relocated to Derry where they currently reside.Born in Lawrence, MA and raised in Methuen, MA, son of the late Edward and Caterina "Kay" (Palumbo) Jacobs, Frank was a graduate of Tenney High School, class of 1971, and later received an Associate Degree from Northern Essex College. Frank enjoyed a long career in computer sales, until his retirement. Frank was a dedicated and loyal fan of all New England sports franchises especially the Red Sox and Patriots and he always had a great time attending games. He was an avid tennis player and fan where Frank spent a lot of his early years on the court with friends. For many years his family spent many vacations and summers in the Bronx, New York with Uncle Tony and his Aunt Mary Spinelli (his Godmother and Godfather). He loved going to the World's Fair and had many summer days at Jones Beach. Frank loved and cherished having lunch with his childhood friends Donald Privitera and David Grosse who were always with him through thick and thin right up until his death. He also enjoyed a monthly lunch with his close friend of 40 years Artie Ginsberg. Along with his Italian Heritage he loved his Lebanese family and cousins. Frank especially loved having his monthly breakfast with his cousin Bruce Touma where they would talk and laugh about old times and all the family comings and goings. Along with his cousins, aunts and uncle, they would all get together at Frank's family home in Methuen where they would play wiffle ball and swim in the pool or swing on the swing his father built on a big oak tree in the yard. He kept so many special memories tucked in his heart. He loved his mother's cooking because she would cook both his Italian and Lebanese family favorites.Franks loved spending time with his family throughout the years and his many holidays with Grace's family including her deceased brother Charlie and sister-in-laws Lee and Lorriane. He loved to travel with his family and enjoyed traveling throughout New England as well as their many unplanned dining experiences along the way. Every day was a new adventure which he planned and would surprise his family. He also looked forward to his many trips to beaches all over New England, the Cape, Salisbury Beach and Nantucket being his favorites. One of his most cherished memories was being with his brother Tom and his wife JR in Ireland.Frank was predeceased by his beloved brother Thomas Jacobs and his wife Jeanann R. Bay Springs - Dennis R. Fontaine, 69, of Bay Springs MS, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 after a lengthy period of declining health.Born in Lawrence, MA on July 14, 1954, to the late Raymond E. and Florence (Dion) Fontaine. Dennis was raised and educated in Lawrence public schools. He was a graduate of Greater Lawrence Technical School and Sylvania Technical Institute.Dennis began his career in auto body and repair, soon moving onto Electronic Technician positions. For a number of years Dennis traveled worldwide to install and repair high vacuum systems for High Voltage Engineering. Upon returning to the States he moved to Mississippi and worked many years at Sunbeam Corporation as a technician, from which he was retired. Dennis was an avid TV and music lover. He was particularly fond of seventies music and retro TV shows. He always loved Arabic cuisine, which he enjoyed during his annual Christmas visits back to the area.Beloved brother, uncle and friend, he will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents Dennis was predeceased by his brother Raymond A. Fontaine, sister Lynne Fontaine and niece Erin McClintock.
